    Elvina L. Behnke, age 82, a resident of Arbor View Senior Care in Plymouth passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, October 13, 2010 at St. Nicholas Hospital.

     

    Elvina was born on September 8, 1928 in Menominee, Michigan, a daughter of the late Evan and Edna (Johnson) Hultman. She attended schools in the area graduating from Stepehnson High School in 1946.  On August 6, 1949 she was united in marriage to Earl C. Behnke in Wallace Michigan.  He preceded her in death in 1993.  Elvina had been employed with the Kohler Company.  One of her favorite Christmas traditions was to bake cookies for the entire family.  She also enjoyed family camping trips, ceramics and playing dominoes.

     

    Elvina was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

     

    Elvina is survived by two daughters, Sandra (David) Grulkowski of Sheboygan and Karen K. Behnke of Sheboygan Falls; two sons, Earl A. Behnke of Sheboygan Falls and Brian S. Behnke of Cleveland; seven grandchildren, Anthony, Lee and Stacey Grulkowski, Rodney Behnke, Brad Radetski, Andrew Behnke, Matthew (Jennifer) Wiegerling and Paul (Betsy) Wittrock; four step great grandchildren, Elisha, Katie, Samantha and Sabrina Wittrock; a brother, Robert (Phyllis) Hultman of Menominee, MI and three sisters-in-law, Bernice Fischer of Manitowoc, Lorraine Beoudoine of Marinette, WI and Donna (Donald) Schwartz of Porterfield, WI.  She was also preceded in death by a sister Leona Gagnon.

     

    A funeral service for Elvina will be held at  1 P.M., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home with Pasto Jon Paquette of St. Nicholas Hospital officiating.  Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Family and friends may gather at the funeral home, 1535 S. 12th St., Sheboygan on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of service at 1 P.M.

     

    In preference to flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name.

     

    Elvina's family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to the caretakers at Hometown Retirement, Arbor View Senior Care and the staff of St. Nicholas Hospital.
