Emily Ostermann, age 101, of Sheboygan died Thursday October 7, 2010 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Emily was born November 29, 1908 in Heiligenhaus, Germany to the late Fred and Emilie (Fadum) Reinbacher. She went to grade school in Germany and attended vocational school in the United States. Emily was united in marriage to Fred Ostermann March 25, 1945 in Sheboygan. Emily worked for a time at Crocker Chair, Sheboygan Casket and the Cuneo Press in Milwaukee. She also worked as a nursing assistant at Sunny Ridge for several years and was an in home caretaker for Dr. Nause's family. Emily was a past member of the Concordia Singing Society as well as the People to People Chapter in Sheboygan. She enjoyed living and walking in her beloved Black River. She had a love of poetry, nature, reading and singing. Emily was well known in the community for her Schaum torte and Black Forest torte.
Emily is survived by her two daughters Gilda Becker of Sheboygan, Diana (William) Bailey of Cedarburg, grandchildren Sandra (Samuel) Boutwell of Ashland, Allison (Sean) Mullen of New Bloomfield, PA, three great grandchildren Cole, Lucas, and Alexander Mullen. She was further survived by a sister-in-law Lucile Reinbacher of Sheboygan, nephews Manfred Reinbacher, Alfred Reinbacher Jr. and Ralph Reinbacher and a niece Shirley Aschebrock.
Emily was preceded in death by her parents, husband Fred, brothers and sisters Emil Reinbacher, Alfred Reinbacher Sr., Fred Reinbacher, Lydia Kehm, Irma Weinaug, Clara Reinbacher, Johanna Kabelowsky and a son-in-law Harold Becker.
Family and friends may call at the Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th Street, Sheboygan on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral service will be held 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alan Kubow officiating. Burial will take place in the Sunrise Memorial Garden.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Emily's name.
Emily's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center for their kindness, care and patience shown to Emily.
