    Barbara J. Schrimpf of Manitowoc, formerly of Sheboygan, died on her 87th birthday, September 8, 2010 at Holy Family Memorial Hospital in Manitowoc. Barbara was born on September 8, 1923 to Frank and Martha Renzelmann in Sheboygan. On September 6, 1947 she was united in marriage to Jerome Schrimpf who preceded her in death in 2005.


    Barbara is survived by three children, Jerolyn (Dion) Schaff, Mary (Larry Te Stroete) Schilder, and Jay (Teri) Schrimpf; one daughter –in-law Mary Tryggeseth; grandchildren Jason Schaff, Richard, Scott (Megan), Isaac (Lisa), Ian, Michael, Jessica, Ariel Schrimpf, Jacob Thomas, Kristy Verhage, Martha (Tim) Price, Amanda (Sam) Holbrook, and Emily (Jeremy) Berlinski. She also is survived by 19 great-grandchildren, her sisters Sr. Helen Renzelmann, Rose Ross, and Gertrude Lawrence, brother-in-law Orlin (Coleen) Schrimpf, sister-in-law Ellen Schrimpf, and two very special friends Kara Harvey-Schultz and Sharon Hansen. Preceding her in death are her parents, her husband, her son Gregory Schrimpf, and her sister Mary Hildegard Blythe along with several brothers and sisters-in-law.


    Barbara graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and had a brief career as a nurse. She then worked at St. Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan in management until her retirement. After her “retirement”, she was employed at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital and Wal-Mart. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to Wolf-Olson Post 1230.


    Funeral services will be held at Novak-Ramm-Ziegler Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12 Street, Sheboygan, Wisconsin on Saturday September 11, 2010 at 7:00pm with visitation from 4pm-7pm at which time her son, Pastor Jay Schrimpf will conduct the funeral service.


    At Barbara’s request, two memorials will be established; one to help the homeless and the other for victims of abuse.


    Barbara was a kind, caring compassionate lady who found the good in everyone. She was especially proud and loyal to her family who she loved unconditionally.


    The family would like to thank the staff of Holy Family Memorial’s Emergency Department, the Medical Surgical Unit, Jon Vincent and the Quality Management team for their compassionate care and support.
