Robert (Bob) Otto Stielow, age 84, of Sheboygan, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 04, 2018 at St. Nicholas Hospital while surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Bob was born in Sheboygan on April 22, 1934, the son of the late Otto and Carita (Dexheimer) Stielow.

Bob attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1953.  Following high school, he served his country in the U.S Army stationed in Okinawa until his honorable discharge in April of 1963.

Bob then started a long and satisfying career in banking. He furthered his education at the Sheboygan Business College and the University of Wisconsin Graduate School of Banking. Bob enjoyed customer and professional relationships for thirty-two years while employed at South West State Bank on Sheboygan’s south side. Following retirement from banking, Bob was employed for several years at Creditors Collection Service and Sheboygan Area Credit Union.

On November 1, 1958, he was united in marriage to Julia Ann Reinholtz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.  Julia preceded him in death on January 23, 2016.  Together, Robert and Julia raised six children that made them very proud. Bob enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events and Christmas programs.  He also loved the holidays and birthday celebrations while surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include Timothy (Carol) Stielow, Scott (Lisa) Stielow, both of Sheboygan, Lisa (Chris) Schultz, of Howards Grove, Stacey (Brian) Grimm, of Plymouth, Tracey (Tom) Johnson, of Sheboygan and Steven (Maggie) Stielow, of Elkhart Lake; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jackie, Kurt (wife Nicole), Dustin, Jacob (wife Hollie), Sara, Derrick, Peter, Izzy and Lucy.  He is further survived by one sister, Cathy (Victor) Adomavich, of Appleton.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julia and a sister, Patricia Stielow.

Bob was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  For a number of years, he served on the Finance Committee and the Board of Education at Bethlehem.  Bob was a member of the American Legion Post 83 and was an active recruiter and officer for many years with the “99” Club in Sheboygan.

A funeral service for Robert will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Alan D. Kubow officiating.  Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:30 p.m.  Burial will take place at the Lutheran Cemetery. VFW Post 9156 will be providing full military honors.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

Bob formed many friendships over the years that have been extended to the Stielow children.  We are thankful for these relationships and hold them near and dear in our hearts.  To that end, the Stielow children would like to extend a special thank you to Gloria and Mary in the Mapledale Apartments for watching over Bob; caring for him; and keeping him company when we couldn’t be there.
