Marion M. Matthias, age 90, of Oregon, WI formerly of Sheboygan, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Sienna Meadows in Oregon, WI. She was born in Sheboygan on December 3, 1927 to the late John R. and Meta Ziesel Davy.
Marion attended St. Clements Elementary School and graduated from Sheboygan Central High School in 1946. On June 23, 1951 she was united in marriage to William J. Matthias in Sheboygan at St. Clements Catholic Church.
Marion worked for Dr. Don Imig for many years as a Dental Assistant. She was a longtime member of the Catholic Women’s Charity Club, the Shoreline Women’s Club, and the St. Nicholas Hospital Auxiliary. Marion was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She loved traveling, golfing, swimming, and especially spending time at their Bass Lake Cottage with their children, grandchildren, and friends. Marion also enjoyed her bridge club and was an animal lover as well.
Survivors include her two children, Michael (Chris) Matthias, of Chanhassen, MN and Mary (Troy Lethem) Matthias, of Madison, WI; grandchildren, Anya and Danny Walker; step-grandchildren, Michael, Colin and Wesley Lethem; a sister, Cecilia (John) Heibing, of Sheboygan; and her brother, Gerald Davy of Stone Mountain, GA. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marion will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Paul Fliss officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:30 p.m.
