Elaine S. Rautmann, 92, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Sheboygan Progressive Care Center. Elaine was born on February 2, 1926 to the late Arwin and Eleanora (Oetling) Herzog. Elaine went to school and graduated from Millersville School. She worked at Kresge’s and for many years at Kohler in the Brass Department. Elaine was a loving and nurturing mother. Her heart was always to put others before herself as she greatly enjoyed taking care of her family. Elaine also loved to garden and cook.
Elaine is survived by her five children, Donna, Bonnie, Dennis, Gerald (Cheryl) and Kenneth; 14 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren plus 2 on the way. She is further survived by her siblings, Karen Herzog, Shirley (Donny) Reineman, Arwin Jr. (Marylin) Herzog, Eugene (Dorothy) Herzog, Donald (Lois) Herzog as well as many other brothers- and sisters- in law.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merlin; 2 sisters, Jane and Marion; 2 brothers, Carl and Robert; grandson, David and great-granddaughter, Jade.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Paul’s UCC, 2114 Wedemeyer St., Sheboygan with Rev. Jeremy Hylen officiating. There will be a time of visitation at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
