Leander W. “Lee” Wolf, age 78, of Sheboygan, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018. Lee was born in Chilton, WI to the late Victor and Veronica Wolf on May 20, 1939. He graduated from Hilbert High School in the class of 1957. Lee broke the school basketball record of most points scored with 1,428, a record that still stands today. Lee was united in marriage to Carol Novachek at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Mishicot on October 3, 1959. Lee worked as an engineer at Hamilton Manufacturing in Two Rivers. He was later transferred within the company to Kosciusko, MS. Lee and his wife, Carol, moved to Sheboygan when Lee began working for the Polar Ware Company, where he retired as Vice President of Manufacturing. Lee loved watching the Packers and Badgers. He and his wife treasured their many trips to Sanibel Island. Lee’s whole family would agree, he made the best greasy popcorn around. In addition to his family, Lee had a special place in his heart for his Airedale Terriers.
Lee is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Carol; two sons, Bart (Tenley) of Valparaiso, IN and Joe (Amy) of Brookfield, WI; his much-loved grandchildren, Daria (Adam) Burch, Bryce, Garrett, Alex and Nick; siblings, Jerome (Agnes) Wolf, Rosemary (LeRoy) Meles and Francis (Carmen) Wolf.
Lee is preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church, 818 Huron Ave., Sheboygan, on Saturday, February 17 at 2:00 p.m. Friends and family may gather at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Mishicot, WI.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Lee’s name. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.
