    Esther Teckla (Spindler) Hemschemeyer, age 94, of Sheboygan passed away on December 27, 2017. Esther was born on February 18, 1923 to the late Martin and Loretta (Beck) Spindler. She grew up on a farm in the Town of Russell. After marrying Charles and a brief time living in the city, they moved to a farm in the Town of Rhine. She loved her vegetable and flower gardens; loved baking bread, cookies and other assorted treats. Later as time allowed she did more knitting, needle work and reading. She was especially proud of her latch hook rug. Children and animals brought a big smile to her face. She was a woman of faith who reaffirmed her beliefs in July, 2009 and was proud to read through her Bible yearly. Besides working on the farm, she worked at Sargento Cheese and was proud of her quarter century watch. She was a member of St. Paul's UCC in Sheboygan.

    Esther is survived by her children Carol (Kenneth) Orr, Charles E. (Betty) Hemschemeyer, Jean (Richard) Felker and John (Gail) Hemschemeyer; grandchildren David Orr, James (Amy) Orr, Jeffrey (Lindsey Welcher) Hemschemeyer, Bonnie Post, Amanda (Terry) Bard, Jed (Ann) Felker and Seth Felker; granddaughter-in-law Michelle Orr; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 great great-grandchildren and her brother Erwin Spindler.

    She is preceded in death by her husband Charles; parents; grandson John Orr; brother Gilbert Spindler and sisters-in-law Mary Spindler and Marion Spindler.

    Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St., with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Jeremy Hylen of St. Paul’s UCC officiating. Interment will take place at Wildwood Cemetery at a later date.

    Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's UCC or the Alzheimer's Association. Condolences may be expressed online at www.reinboldfh.com.

    Her family wishes to thank Shane and John from Orange Cross, Dr. James Pawlak for his wonderful care of Esther over the years as well as the caregivers who were with her on her journey home. Thank you to the very, very kind and loving staff from Countryside Manor who took great care of our mother.
