    Elfrieda Karsnick of Sheboygan passed away on at Columbia St. Mary's/Lawlis Hospice Center in Mequon, Wl. She was 93 years old.

    Elfrieda was born Dec. 16,1923 in Pensberg, Germany. The daughter of the late Ludwig and Hedwig Reiderer. Also preceding her in death was a brother who died at birth. She attended and graduated from Central High School. She also attended and graduated from St Mary's School of Nursing in Milwaukee.

    Elfrieda married John Karsnick on Jan. 15,1944. The love of her life whom she met while employed at American Chair. He preceded her in death on Mar. 18, 1990. She was also a nurse at St. Nicholas Hospital and did private nursing for 26 yrs.

    John and Elfrieda also were foster parents for over 20 yrs. for Sheb. and Fond du Lac Counties for 60 children.

    At age 4 Elfrieda became a member of the first childrens Schuplatter dance group in Sheboygan. She was taught by Max Pittner who was the founder of the Intlars. She later became a member of the Sheboygan D' Werdenfelser and also was an active member with the D' Holzhacker Buam of Milwaukee.

    Elfrieda was a member of St. Clement’s Parish.  She served as a minister of the Eucharist.  She was also a member of the Holy Family Altar Society.

    Elfrieda is survived by twin sons John and James, and Ken. She is also survived by daughters Marsha (Tom) Kultgen, Mary (Don) Mitchell, four grandchildren John (Elizabeth) Mitchell, Christine (John) Bridges, Tommy John Kultgen all of Sheboygan, and Tim (Tricia) Kultgen of Chanhassen, MN, five great grandchildren. Cayden Mitchell of San Diego, Cal. Emily and Zachery Bridges of Sheboygan and Jack and Jocelyn Kultgen of Chanhassen, MN.

    Family and friends may gather at St. Clement’s Catholic Church, 707 N. 6th Street, Sheboygan on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9-11 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with Fr. Gideon Buya, officiating.  Burial will take place in the Greendale Cemetery.

    In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Lawlis Family Hospice, 13111 N. Port Washington Rd. Mequon WI  53097.
