Lois Koth, age 85, of Sheboygan Falls passed away November 3, 2017 at Pine Haven Residential in Sheboygan Falls. Lois was born August 13, 1932 in Oshkosh to the late William and Emma (Juedes) Wachholz. Lois graduated from Oshkosh High School and then graduated from Concordia College in River Forest, IL with her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Lois taught in St. Louis, MO, Forest Park, IL, Melrose Park, IL, Chicago, IL and at Immanuel Lutheran School in Sheboygan for 25 years. Lois was united in marriage to Arthur Koth on June 25, 1955 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Forest Park, IL; he preceded her in death on December 5, 1998. Lois was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, was a part of the Prayer Group and more recently was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls. Following retirement, Lois enjoyed being a volunteer at St. Nicholas Hospital.
Survivors include her children: Jean (Frank) Cafagna of Oak Lawn, IL, Ellen (John) Hughes of O’Fallon, IL, Phil (Deb) Koth of Homer Glen, IL, Laurel (Marwan) Baker of Bridgeview, IL, Patty (Dave) Roediger of Sheboygan grandchildren: John Hughes Jr., Julie Hughes, Haley Koth, Jason Koth, Jamel Baker, Atheer Baker, step-grandchildren: Steve (Therese) Cafagna, and Beth Hanks, step great grandchildren: Michael and Ryan Cafagna, brother Jerry (Gayl) Wachholz of Goleta, CA and a sister-in-law Lorraine Wachholz of New Berlin.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Don and a granddaughter Jacqueline Hughes.
Family and friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 730 Cty. Rd. PPP in Sheboygan Falls, on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. Mark Janzen, officiating. Burial to follow in the Lutheran Cemetery in Sheboygan.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established for Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheboygan and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sheboygan Falls.
