Bruce W. Beyer, age 68, of Sheboygan, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 at his home. He was born in Marengo, IL on July 13, 1949, the son of the late Frank and Hazel Gartman Beyer.
He attended local schools in Marengo, IL and graduated from Marengo Community High School. On November 20, 1971, he was united in marriage to Janet Bartels. Bruce was then married to Jill Sachse on August 7, 1999 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Sheboygan.
Bruce was employed at various grocery stores in Marengo, Mayville and Sheboygan, most recently working at Festival Foods in Sheboygan. Bruce was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the Barbershop Harmony Society, the Clipper City Chordsmen and the Lake Effect Quartet. He was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan. Bruce also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, duck hunting, gardening and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Jill; six children, Stacy (Keith Yonan) Beyer, Ben (Kathi) Beyer, Joanna (David) Lehman, Valerie (Jimmey) Cummings, Paul Beeck and Michael Beeck; sixteen grandchildren, Jocelyn (Blake), Trevor, Jordan, Morgan, Kiersten, Hayven, Brynnin, Mackenzie, Braelynn, Angelina, Vanessa, Landon, Annika, Caitlin, James III and Landen; a great-grandson, Lucas; four sisters, Dianna (David) Sponholtz, Susan (Terry) Ettner, Linda (Douglas) Duval and Jean (William) Zenk; three sisters-in-law, Sandy (Fred) Gildner, Lynn (Dave) Gordon and Amy (James) Sigafus; two brothers-in-law, Michael (Debbie) Sachse and Brian Sachse. Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends further survive. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Beyer and his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marcy and LeRoy Sachse.
A funeral service for Bruce will be held on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1121 Georgia Ave. Sheboygan with Rev. Alan D. Kubow officiating. Family and friends may gather at the church on Monday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Bruce’s name.
A heartfelt thank you is extended to staff at Columbia-St. Mary’s Hospital, Marsho Medical and St. Nicholas Hospital ER for the compassion and care that was given to Bruce.
