    Leona Jean Acker, 91, of Sheboygan passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. Leona was born to the late William and Grace Minnard on August 19, 1925 in Sheboygan. She graduated from Sheboygan North High School in the class of 1944. Leona was united in marriage to Francis Acker on February 26, 1949 at St. Clement Catholic Church in Sheboygan. Leona was an office worker at Vollrath before having her two children. In Leona’s younger years, she enjoyed being part of a bowling team. She also loved to travel and vacation to Walt Disney World, which turned out to be a repeating vacation spot for many years. She even travelled to California to experience Walt Disney Land. Leona enjoyed visiting national parks, Las Vegas and San Francisco among other places.  Gardening was a passion of Leona’s while at home along with other crafts including ceramic paintings. Most of all, Leona’s family was very important to her.

    Leona is survived by her children Bill Acker and Sue (Don) Sieracki; grandchildren Sara (Jeff) Fahrenbach and Matt Sieracki; great-granddaughters Aubrey and Brooklyn Fahrenbach; sister Audrey Curtiss as well as nieces and nephews.

    Leona is preceded in death by her husband Francis, parents, sister Alice and brother Donald.

    There will be a visitation held for Leona at Reinbold-Novak Funeral Home, 1535 S. 12th St. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
