Mary Jane Norris, age 71, of Sheboygan, died on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Sheboygan on February 18, 1946, the daughter of the late John and Ann Daugird Norris.
Mary Jane attended local schools and graduated from Sheboygan South High School. She was employed as a telephone operator at Kohler Company for over forty years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Mary Jane also worked part-time at Maple Lanes for many years. Mary Jane was always willing to lend a helping hand and volunteer for many area organizations including St. Nicholas Hospital, Meals on Wheels, voting polls and the Sheboygan County Museum.
In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, Mary Jane had a 300 game, was on TV and she was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. Mary Jane also liked playing cards, Mahjong, movies, trips to the casino and going out to lunch with friends. Mary Jane loved spending time with her family and was always supportive of her many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends and will be remembered for her kind heart.
Survivors include her three sisters, Patricia(Thomas) Adamavich, Judy Zelle and Linda(Larry) Burger, all of Sheboygan; nieces and nephews, Victoria(Tom) Binder, Steven(Amy) Adamavich, both of Sheboygan, Michelle(Dennis) Wilkens, of Fredonia, Paul (fiancée Mary Stange) Zelle, of Appleton, Jodi(Steven) Prahl and Scott (fiancée Amber Ziesmer) Burger, both of Sheboygan. Mary Jane is further survived by many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Norris, brother-in-law, Tom Zelle and a niece, Lisa Burger.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Jane will be celebrated on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic, 1305 Humboldt Ave., Sheboygan with Rev. Richard Cerpich officiating. Family and friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Mary Jane’s name.
