Wendy E. Seidlitz, age 59 of 5804 Superior Ave. Sheboygan died Monday August 9, 2010 at her home of natural causes. Wendy was born June 11, 1951 in Beaver Dam to Alton and Erna (Boerson) Kamphuis. She was united in marriage to Richard Seidlitz on June 11, 1977 in Sheboygan. Wendy attended Central College in Pella, Iowa prior to graduating from Silver Lake College with a degree in special education. She taught at James Madison School for 20 years. From 1997 until present she worked as a Librarian at the Sheboygan Falls Memorial Library. Wendy loved to go on mission trips to Haiti; she participated in 18 mission trips there. She attended Bethany Reformed Church and was a part of their Bell Choir. Wendy was an avid reader and enjoyed leading the book club at the Sheboygan Falls library. Wendy loved her family and especially enjoyed being a grandma.
Survivors include her husband Richard, three children Faedra (Rick) Swedberg of Sheboygan and Ben and Adam Seidlitz at home, three grandchildren Timothy, Lauren and Riley, parents Alton and Erna Kamphuis of Sheboygan Falls, two sisters Valorie (Wayne) Schultz of Sheboygan, Nan (Rob) Minster of Sheboygan Falls, mother-in-law Dolores Seidlitz of Sheboygan, three brothers-in-law John Seidlitz of Sheboygan, Steven (Bonnie) Seidlitz of Greenfield, and Larry (Suja) Seidlitz of India. Wendy was preceded in death by her father-in-law Daniel Seidlitz.
Family and friends may call at Bethany Reformed Church, 1315 Washington Ave. Sheboygan on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. A funeral service celebrating Wendy’s life will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial to follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in the Town of Wilson.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Wendy’s name for outreach to Haiti.
